CHIILI DOGS
These yummy and filling chilli beef hot dogs are perfect for eating in front of the TV whilst cheering on your favourite footie team.
You've got the soft brioche hot dog rolls, warming spicy beef chilli and meaty pork sausages. They really are a meat lovers dream.
Just make sure you have a couple of napkins to hand to mop up any mucky fingers!
WHAT ARE CHILLI DOGS?
Various toppings are traditionally served with them including mustard, onions and cheese.
They originated in the United States, and many states now have their own unique recipes and names for them, including Michigan Dog, which is served with Michigan sauce (a meaty tomato based sauce), rather than chilli.
TOP TIPS FOR MAKING THE CHILLI HOT DOGS
If you're serving these chilli hot dogs for kids, leave off the chopped fresh chillies on top...unless they like it hot of course.
To get ahead of the game, you can make the chilli a few days before, just pop it in the fridge in a sealed container. I often find that chilli tastes better if you let the flavours develop over a few days.
